Updates about TW&TW, Sun King, and others.

I just got word after the weird delay with Sheridan Books that for the most part we're still on-schedule. The Wizards & the Wastes is scheduled to finish production on 6/3, so early June. Shipping won't take that long considering they're relatively close to where I live. And from there the packing and shipping on my end is one of my favorite parts so I try to blast through it in a day or two. At the latest then, barring anything else, you should get your books late June. I'm excited to see them in person and get them to you. If this process goes well then hopefully I can continue working with Sheridan on bigger projects moving forward.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Sun King and the campaign we ran, but it was successful. It's helping me pay the bills and i'm able to print it and honestly that's all I could ask for. There's a part of me that wants to leave a mark and create something with longevity. Which, in my mind, means something closer to TW&TW. Hardcover, stitched up. A book with care put into the construction as much as the writing. And I want to keep doing projects like that but they require a ton of money.

That means I might be going back to kickstarter. At least for a project. Kickstarter allowed me to make .dungeon a hardcover book where it was originally a stapled softcover. Kickstarter allowed me to pay people and create My Body is a Cage, which was an ambitious project. My hope is that it might allow me to bring Sun King to the next level with original art, full color, and all the bells and whistles that TW&TW will have.

But I don't know yet. I'm feeling up in the air and looking for direction. I know vaguely what I want to do for the rest of this year, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Last thing to talk about is Aberdeen. The new zine I'm working on that's a fully-functional fantasy setting set in a modern-styled city. Dungeon in basements, point crawls through parks, and a labyrinthian undercity to discover. My work partner and I have a plan of doing the first 3 zines and then seeing if the idea is catching on and worth pursuing further. Issue 2 will be out at the end of this month. Issue 3 will be end of June.

That's all I got for y'all right now.

Take care,

John
